Day 3: You Can Let Go Of The Past That’s Holding You Captive

​Just like the woman at the well, our past hurts can hold us back from experiencing everything that the Lord has designed for our life. Yet with a simple yes, Jesus can set you free, and you can experience His freedom. 
 
Read these scriptures below and let them sink in to establish a new normal for you regarding being able to let go of the past:
 

• The story of the woman at the well John 4
• Pursue peace with everyone, as well as holiness, without which no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God, and that no root of bitterness springs up to cause trouble and defile many. Hebrews 12:14-15
• For God has not given us a spirit of fear… 2 Timothy 1:7
• Who the Son sets free is free indeed John 8:36
• There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:1
• Forgetting what lies behind, I press on…. Philippians 3:13
  
  

What lies have you believed about your ability to let go of the things in your past that have haunted you for years? Ask God to show you His truth and then create an affirmation to support that new truth. Every time the enemy comes at you with the lies from the past, simply recognize it, replace it with the truth of God’s Word, and reinforce that truth over and over. Over time, your normal response will begin to align with God’s best for your life.
